Is there no end to this Government's insane totalitarian urges? The Guardian reports that Schools Minister Jim Knight is in negotiation with telecom companies over his plans to mandate parents of schoolchildren to install broadband internet to their homes, to enable 'real-time reporting' on the minutiae of their child's 'progress' and I suppose extend the school day to 24 hours. It's all to help those deprived kids, of course.(Hat tip: Samizdata)
