Leo rising

He who takes pleasure in observing the stars, in London counts his blessings when providence smiles, such as last night. For the first time in a long while I beheld Leo, emblazoned upon the south-west sky. Orion has also taken a fair step eastwards since last I noticed.

A fellow star gazer? Bought a scope recently. I LOVE looking at the stars - and the space station.

Nice post

Thank you. I love to look at the stars. I have a very good place near my home: a park on top of one of our South London hills.

I think I know where you mean.

Today is a sad day I reckon. 28th February 2011 - an historic day - the day the British State forbade Christians from adopting children. And these judges are the people that will sure enough be drafting our new Bill of Rights. I feel a bit sick and a bit sad about it all. So sick and sad in fact that I burst into tears. I don't see a future in this country anymore and thinking about growing up in south London, parks and star gazing all feels quite innocent against the background of this secular multi cultural revolution we have been living through. The real Quiet Revolution. Ill write it up later on my blog before I despair

Maybe you do know my hill (and it is mine!) The street lights don't reach, so if the sky is clear, you get a wonderful view.

As for the sad day, yeah I picked up that vibe and ran with it. The weather didn't help. All I can offer is the tune in the Alexander post below, which may match your mood.
