How to pimp a race war

I have a post category named 'mendacious media'. Here's one for the file. The Trayvon Martin case is obviously much less of a deal over this side of the Atlantic, but NBC's doctored 911 call by the shooter, Zimmerman, prior to the incident has no doubt stoked tensions.

What NBC broadcast:
Zimmerman: “This guy looks like he’s up to no good. He looks black.”
What was actually said:
Zimmerman: “This guy looks like he’s up to no good. Or he’s on drugs or something. It’s raining and he’s just walking around, looking about.”

Dispatcher: “OK, and this guy – is he white, black or Hispanic?”

Zimmerman: “He looks black.”

NBC have apologised and sacked the producer, since being caught.

Dear Trooper Thompson

Such a grotesque distortion of the truth ought to be prosecuted, the individuals responsible punished severely and the employing TV 'news' company pilloried by all other news companies for bringing their business into disrepute - assuming there are any that have not done so themselves.

Can’t see it happening though.

no, it will NOT happen.

the Trayvon "story" has been fabricated since the beginning. they're still showing five year old pictures of Trayvon, as if that has anything to do with what he looked like the night of the incident.

such manipulation of basic data is worthy of Michael Moore. and it is no less intentional than the fabrication of / failure to investigate the George Bush National Guard letter or the Duke Lacrosse case.

there may be an individual producer here or there who gets fired but the corrupt social milieu which excuses all of this and aid / abets in the creation of the story will still own all of the media and most of the courts.

DP,

I think the Biblical admonition 'let he who is without sin, cast the first stone' will keep the other establishment media corps quiet.

Bob,

maybe the media's too busy investigating real issues, like the Attorney General's involvement in running guns to Mexican drug cartels?

Or maybe not.

who's the cynical one now, eh?

i'll believe somebody is getting serious about this malfeasance when Spike Lee gets brought up on criminal charges for making false accusations about Zimmerman's home address. the private citizens ( who are COMPLETELY unrelated to this incident ) that were 'outed' by Lee have been forced to vacate their home.

The agenda's bad enough but the lies are the galling part.
